Favourite thing about working in this industry? There is no other job quite like this one. You get to meet so many people and find out about their professions and businesses. There’s nothing more satisfying than helping someone make their career transition and then see them flourish within their new place of work, and really add value to their new employer.
In your opinion, what makes R13 recruitment worthy winners of the ‘Small Business of the Year Award’? We work hard – really hard – with a true dedication to getting the job done well. We care about the people and the companies we work with and about building long term relationships and partnerships.
How do you spend your weekends? As much day-time as possible enjoying the great outdoors (I live in, and love, the countryside), and then a cosy pub for the evenings or at home with the husband (he’s suffered 18 years of me to date), our furry kids (2 fluffy cats and 2 terrorist pooches) in front of a roaring fire, at this time of the year.
Best thing about being apart of the R13 team? I think that’s just it – the best thing about R13 is the team. A fantastic bunch of individuals to be around every day.
Motto in life? Do what makes you happy.
Tea or coffee drinker at work? Coffee – rocket fuel. But not too many or I turn into an excited child at a funfair (that’ll be the caffeine).
In your opinion, what are the 3 most important skills needed to work in recruitment? Communication, retention of information, tenacity.
