Rthirteen are currently supported a leading business in their search for a Claims Handler to join their team in Norwich. Within this role you will be delivering a high quality, efficient claims service to valued customers whilst helping to deliver business goals.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working within a customer-focussed environment and will demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service as well as an eagerness to learn. You’ll also need to be empathetic and understanding, with a confident telephone manner and attentive listening skills, as well as the ability to work within a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and prioritisation is key. Additionally, you will be familiar with using a variety of software and systems.

Duties to include:

  • Managing a caseload of customers, communicating via telephone, writing and e-mail.
  • Managing customer claims, involving elements of both customer, third parties and suppliers.
  • Requesting all relevant information surrounding incidents.
  • Working with colleagues, departments, suppliers and third parties to complete full investigations.
  • Using various tools available to establish relevant facts.
  • Nominating and instructing solicitors where required.
  • Providing a first-class service, showing empathy, understanding and compassion.
  • Be capable of validating claims against policy information to ensure Indemnity verified.
  • Identifying any potential fraud concerns and raising these where applicable.
  • Gain an in depth understanding credit hire laws, rules, and protocols.

You will have/be:

  • Previous experience in a similar customer-focused role (ideally within motor insurance)
  • Excellent customer service skills coupled with strong telephone manner.
  • The ability to showcase empathy and understanding.
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills in order to settle claims fairly and promptly.
  • Strong computer literacy skills.
  • Highly organised to co-ordinate and deliver on a variety of actions concurrently.
  • A real team player, with a passion to learn and develop.

This is a full time, permanent role. The offered salary for this position is £18,000 - £21,000 dependant on experience. Benefits offered include pension, group income protection, health scheme, life assurance plus optional benefits.
