R13 recruitment are working in collaboration with an established financial services organisation in their search for a Training & Competency Manager to join their team in Norwich. The Training & Competency Manager will manage the lifecycle of training for all employees and will be the first point of contact for enquiries relating to training and accreditation. They will use their excellent customer services and organisational skills to ensure that employees are fully supported in their training activities and activities meet relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.

Duties to include:

  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of the regulator environment and translating this knowledge into effective T&C policies and procedures.
  • Implementing methods for monitoring T&C activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records of T&C activities.
  • Reporting on key risks and issues, providing suitable solutions.
  • Overseeing any necessary certification activities.
  • Supporting the business with continuing professional development
  • Managing internal and external data records.
  • Assisting with the management of the annual recertification process.
  • Producing regular reports on competence and professional standards for the regulator.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external (regulatory) requirements

You will have/be:

  • Proven experience in a Training & Competency position at management level.
  • Experience within a compliance function.
  • Relevant regulatory knowledge, this would ideally include knowledge of Conduct of Business rules, FCA Principles for Business, Approved Persons regime (APER), Data Protection Act etc..
  • Confident in identifying and reporting significant issues.
  • Able to clearly articulate opinions and conclusions from reached results.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with ability to relate well to individuals at all levels.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with an approachable, friendly manner.
  • Outstanding organisation and time management with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work autonomously or with team members.
  • A can-do, flexible attitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

This is a full time, permanent role working Monday – Friday, 9am-5:30pm but with the option for some flexibility should it be required. The offered salary for this position is £35,000 - £45,000 dependant on experience
